Well, Ma, I made it. Can you believe it? Nominated to the highest court in the land.

"I'm so proud of you! I always knew you were destined for greatness."

I worked so hard.

"You certainly did. And you didn't turn your back on anything your father and I taught you."

It's such an honor. And a responsibility.

"You're up to it. You know that!"

Yes. I mean, I don't want to brag, but yes. I know everyone's counting on me. All those voters.

"You won't disappoint them."

I don't want to disappoint the Founding Fathers, either.

"What do you mean, son?"

I want to be on the right side of history. I want people to look back and say this was a pivotal moment in our politics, and that we made the right choices.

"Choices? That's what you're worried about?"

Well, I don't know, Mom. Sometimes.

"Listen. Have you followed your heart?"

"And the lessons you learned about what is right?"

Yes.

"And have you succeeded?"

Oh, Heavens, yes.

"Succeeded well?"
