Dream Diary: Recorded June 6, 2018
Jun. 6th, 2018 09:17 amThis dream got a bit more silly than usual. The situation was that I found myself able to move through and act in Twitter streams as if they were some kind of virtual reality, and I had been Tweeting with Oxford University Philosophy professor Marianne Talbot (@OxPhil_Marianne) about ideas she had shared regarding the creation of objects in that reality. I had accidentally created a group, or, rather, a swarm, of such objects in the virtual space around her Tweets and profile, and now they seemed to be bustling about and threatening to break into the real world from the virtual one. It was, strangely, a practical situation that I now had to repair by locating and eliminating the philosophical error by which I had set these instantiations of a misguided idea (or ideal) swarming.
Later came a dream of Star Wars or Star Trek characters, perhaps even including one of the Hobbits from The Lord of the Rings, with lots of special effects and situations, none particularly memorable right now. And then I had a repetition of my college cafeteria dream, except this time the cafeteria was set up in a great hall that slightly resembled the fellowship hall of First Baptist Church of Ellijay, Ga., and they were almost ready to close. I got myself a plate of food from many of the various stations and thought that either I had paid the appropriate amount per portion, or it was a one-price-per-plate deal, but I wasn't sure.
