We fear what we do not understand. Those who profit from fear promote and perpetuate misunderstanding. Look at the world with compassionate eyes, embrace its diversity with a compassionate soul. There is a marketplace of ideas, and there is a manipulation place that force-feeds particular ideas. One place will try to convince you that it is the other, that it is all you need, that it is what freedom means. That one spreads falsity and alarm and is sadly prospering. The other seems always to be struggling, but it is where you find genuine truth and beauty, the kind that is excellent, but often seems hidden, possibly because it has been marginalized by the manipulators. Again, look at the world with compassionate eyes. You might find yourself becoming a beautiful troublemaker. We need more of them.
